ANNUAL BLACK HISTORY HIKE!

Hike Leader: Carolyn Hartfield

Join us for our 9th Annual, 4-mile, Black History Month Hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park on Saturday, February 3. This easy to moderately difficult hike will include a history lesson about some of our unsung heroes and sheroes.

Sweetwater Creek State Park is a peaceful tract of wilderness only about 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta. A wooded trail follows the stream to the ruins of the authenic New Manchester Manufacturing Company built by the enslaved. The company was a textile mill burned during the Civil War.

We hike every 1st Saturday of every month.  Normally we go up in North Georgia Mountains. Our hikes are day hikes, rated easy to moderate and between 3 - 5 miles.  First time hikers are welcomed.
